Johann Salvator
Archduke of Austria
* 25. Nov 1852, † 1890
Archduke Johann Salvator was one of the Habsburgs’ enfants terribles: his lifestyle and liberal views brought him into conflict with conservative members of the family. As a result, he renounced his title in 1889, calling himself Johann Orth from then on. Shortly afterwards he embarked on a voyage to South America from which he never returned. He was officially declared dead in 1911.
