Wolfgang Amadé Mozart
* 27. Jan 1756, † 05. Dec 1791
From the age of four, Mozart toured Europe with his sister Maria Anna as a child prodigy, at the instigation of his father Leopold. He performed in front of the Viennese imperial family, which was enthralled by his playing but long failed to engage him as court composer. As a freelance artist, Mozart composed works which are today famous all over the world and was also active as a piano virtuoso. Having suffered financial difficulties all his life, he died impoverished in Vienna in 1791.
