Martin Kaiser: Clavicytherium, 2nd half of 17th century
A clavicytherium is a harpsichord with the soundboard and strings mounted vertically rather than horizontally. Emperor Leopold I played several instruments including the harpsichord or clavicytherium, and was also a superb dancer. A clavichord stood at the ready for him in all his residences.
